Album Notes
“THROWBACK” includes a mix of acoustic-based folk, Americana, and alt-country songs that features:

A duet with Juno nominated roots artist, Annabelle Chvostek (You Might Come Around) which won 2nd place in "Americana" category of the 2012 International Songwriting Competition; a co-written song with Canadian Folk Music Awards songwriter of the year nominee, Rob Lutes (When You Wake); and fiddle, mandolin, and slide guitar contributions from Juno nominee and multiple Maple Blues award winner, Michael Jerome Browne.

In addition to the original songs, which include the upbeat album opener “All Gone Now” and the moody title track, “Throwback,” the album offers a folk inspired version of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down,” a reworked take on Stephen Foster’s “Hard Times,” and a live version of the blues classic, “Baby Please Don’t Go,” recorded live at Canada's oldest running coffee house, the Yellow Door in Montreal, Quebec.

"Montreal singer-songwriter Dale Boyle comes right out of the gate sounding like Steve Earle in All Gone Now, the opening track of his excellent new roots album Throwback. The disc also includes a duet with Annabelle Chvostek, a hushed folky makeover of Tom Petty’s I Won’t Back Down and a moving version of the standard Hard Times"
- Bernard Peruse - (Montreal Gazette) {Quebec}

"ALL GONE NOW (Dale Boyle), en ouverture, nous rallie à l'esprit de l'auteur aux couleurs folk teintées de blues et de country, avec une voix posée et chaude. YOU MIGHT COME AROUND (Dale Boyle) est, à mon sens, l'une des belles ballades country de l'opus avec la complicité vocale d'Annabelle Chvosteck. Un moment fort"
– Rejean Nadon (Le Net Blues) {Quebec}

“The duet "You Might Come Around" with Annabelle Chvostek (Ex-The Wailin 'Jennys) is very good and brings to mind the duets of Steve Earle & Emmylou Harris” … “definitely recommended”

- Herring Brothers {Sweden}

"Thoughtful originals and well-chosen covers...impeccably played and the recorded sound has a breathtaking intimacy and warmth"
