Dale T. Brann’s “walking back” sounds like what it is – songs that tell a story - with hints of the traditions (and instrumentation) of old time, bluegrass and folk music.

The music is original enough to defy an easy fit into a descriptive category, with the songs structured in a manner that allows the listener to explore their own complex perspectives of responsibility, introspection, isolation, fulfillment and individualism.

Dale’s music is conversation, discussion, contemplation; notes to one's self, to pay attention to the feel of the wind, the look in the eyes of an old dog.
He describes his music as “a melodic focus on everyday details of life; tiny realities as opposed to big events.”

Dale’s song writing, performances and recordings blend to convey and enhance stories of: family, farm, ancestors, children, horses, cattle, stray dogs, individual efforts, trials, trying to do right - often with limited success, fatigue, and an outwardly expressed awareness that "NO WEALTH IS GREATER THAN THE PRAISE AND APPRECIATION OF THE SIMPLE THINGS..."
