Album Notes
It is a rare occurrence when one person is equally successful in two completely different arenas.
Dana Leong is remarkably active as both a renowned cellist and a powerful and articulate trombonist. Having learned both instruments at an early age under the tutelage of his mother Sumi Nagasawa, Leong now resides in New York City. Mr. Leong has recently completed his debut album entitled "Leaving New York, which features his original compositions, and guest appearances by Christian McBride, and 8x Grammy winning clarinetist Paquito D'Rivera.

The Chicago Tribune Says -
"Dana Leong crafts (cello / trombone) lines of sublime lyric content."

All About Jazz Magazine mentions Dana Leong -
"Top 10 Performances of the Year in New York City"

Mr. Leong's musical presence has been called upon by a growing array of artists including:
Richard Stolzman at Carnegie Hall, The 2006 Grammy Nominated Jazz Chamber Trio led by Paquito D'Rivera (where Leong now fills a chair frequented by Yo-Yo Ma), Yoko Ono, Boyz II Men at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards, Earth Wind & Fire, Barry White, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Eddie Palmieri and Giovani Hidalgo at Avery Fisher Hall, DLG at Shea Stadium NYC, Ray Charles, Henry Threadgill at the Bienalle di Venezia, Steve Coleman, Lionel Hampton, Claudia Acuna, Dave Douglas, Richard Bona, Christian McBride, Sam Rivers, Jon Faddis, Balkan Beat Box, Suphala, The Mingus Big Band, Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra.
He has also acted and performed in Steven Spielberg's feature film "The Terminal," NBC's "Law & Order," "The Today Show," and was asked to perform for designer Alexander Hercovitch's 2005 Olympus fashion week production.

This is an absolute masterpiece; classical music mixed up with jazz, soul, and ...... lets say, in lack of better words, rock . By listning at the clips you can easily get the impression that the music is very soft ..... but it grows, in every song, into more heavy parts, and then back again . Don't hesitate to by this one

multi faceted brilliance
I love it!!! The best recording I have bought in years. The musicianship and compositional artistry are brilliant and are nothing less than inspirational.
