Dana McCoy and her music are pure gold.
This CD is an amazement. From her haunting vocals to her whimsical lyrics, Dana McCoy makes you think and feel deeply. I love the mixture of humor, sadness, anger and elation in her music. Just Beyond Words is one of the most beautiful and truthful love songs I've ever heard. I still get chills every time I listen to it. Sleeping in America is a rock anthem for those of us who are fed up with what's happening in the White House today. This CD will end up at the top of your ipod favorites list in no time!

the joni mitchell of "our" time.
this artist/album is gifted in so many areas of music.
she has a god given talent to not only write her own brilliant haunting music with an irish and classical flair but on stage and in person captivates all audiences with her inner and outer beauty and elegance.
her orchestrations are nothing short of perfect ...her cello sounds and mixes of ukaleahle {cant spell that one}... blend into a unique sound of an unforgettable album.
dana mccoy deserves the attention of every music lover and of the grammy's.
she has the experience of bach betheoven and of any top musical genius of yesteryear and todays pop music.
she has a light and effective sound to the ear and is addicting to listen to.
i love her music and know that her time is coming actually right around the corner.
this cd has played over and over on my player and on many who i have given it to... and will continue for years to come... cant wait for the next one.

88 BUTTERFLY TAKING SHAPE is fantastic! Not only does Dana have captivating vocals on this CD, but has also crafted beautiful, haunting melodies with amazing harmonies throughout. I can hear influences of The Beatles, Prince and David Bowie. Her poetry on the CD is SO RIGHT ON. The lyrics are very honest, avoiding any cliches or sappiness. My favs are: KISS GOODBYE with its nice pop quality and sweet harmonies; JUST BEYOND WORDS for poetry, melody and again harmonies; OPIUM KISSES for its smoldering, sexy Prince-like qualities. This would make a great dance track.(Britney Spears could learn a thing or two from DANA MCCOY!)
Her cover of the Beatles, BECAUSE is outrageously good with a wonderful arrangement of cello. It has a great modern Brechtian /James Bondian feel. Thanks Dana for a sexy, smart, funny and moving CD. We will be seeing and hearing more of you I am sure!
