ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dan Baker is a Boston based singer/songwriter. Since his debut release "Outskirts of town" in 2008, Baker has been playing to audiences around the north east and gearing up for his latest release. On his sophomore effort “Sad Song Junkie”, Baker headed down south to team up with some of Nashville’s best musicians, Jeff Taylor (Elvis Costello, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs) on accordion, Joe Spivey (Merle Haggard, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Kris Kristofferson, Joan Baez, Hank Williams Jr) on fiddle & mandolin, and Steve Hinson (George Jones, Dolly Parton, Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis) on steel guitar, just to name a few. Baker intricately blends his words to bring forth powerful stories, some bitter sweet, some dark, and others laced with his straight faced dry humor. He has the ability to take the simplest objects and scenarios and twist and mold them at his will. Recorded at the famed Blackbird Studio the album achieves a warm timeless feel, a full and rich sound that echos till the last note is played. All the elements of this record, the outstanding musicians, the world class studio, and Baker’s unique talent, come together to bring you this masterful collection of songs.
