Album Notes
It's Thursday night and members of Victoria's English Country Dance community are gathering to savour an evening of good fellowship, dancing and live music. Recorded live at Dan's Hall in October 2009, this set of tunes represents some of our favorite music. We have put together a dance evening for your enjoyment that contains easy, intermediate and more complex dances by a variety of choreographers. There is an introduction to each tune and enough repetitions to provide a good dance experience as well as easy listening. Each half of the program ends with an original waltz medley, as is the custom at our gatherings in Victoria.
There's a fire in the old wood stove and tea is brewing in the kitchen. So open the door and come into the warmth. The musicians are tuning, strings, flute, recorder and keyboard. Find the dance floor. We love to play for you!

It is now part of my collection...
Initially an impulse purchase but upon re-listenings, I'm glad I made the plunge. Particular favourites are the Fandango and Jack's Health. I found the collection a refreshing blend of tunes that I knew and those I did not. Kudos...

It's delightful! Thank you so much! ...on first listen, it makes me feel like devouring a haunch of venison with a
dagger and fork, washing it down with flagons of ale, whilst watching other's, more spritely than I, Fandango-ing their hearts out in some green meadow of English daisies. Very inspired. More seriously, it really is fine. I'm sure, with successive listens, many more of the intricacies will become apparent. Pass along my appreciation to the troupe. From one crazy old country picker: Well done!
Cheers, Bob
