Album Notes
Danelle Harvey is elated, making a positive difference with music "that means something, due to me being able to give something back" has been a long time coming and is a dream come true.

Addictive soul-acoustic folk-rock with a sassy London urban twist is the official sound of her infectious musical fusion. Her candid, raw lyrics combined with her acoustic guitar convey positive triumph and tenderness through soulful emotive delivery causing listeners to feel elevated and uplifted.

Blend a generous helping of gospel-influenced "butterscotch-chocolate and whisky" vocals singing over addictive soul-acoustic folk-rock along with Rap/Reggae style MC'ing, and you have London’s own petite powerhouse, Danelle Harvey. This 'Ethical Diva' rocks up and delivers armed with her acoustic guitar, a five+ octave vocal range, urban natural flavour and humanitarian love.

With a soulful and raw emotive delivery reminiscent of Janis Joplin, Lauryn Hill and Tracey Chapman, she tells it like it is, leaving listeners feeling elevated, uplifted and inspired.

Danelle passionately combines singing, song writing and production with ownership of Indie record label Tygahoney Music; her brand of 'hippie chic' glamour is meshed with uncompromising good ethics. Combine all this with being deputy editor and writer at Jazz Reloaded, writing music for television, the voice and composer of the Sony Playstation Dance mat ad campaign, appearing in feature films and modelling you’ll find an all-round talented powerhouse who is a testament to hard work. Danelle's ability to effortlessly transcend numerous musical genres with her dynamic, emotive voice has made this tiny lady 'D'-va a force to be reckoned with.

Singing all her life, Danelle initially trained in the church as a gospel singer and as a child on the violin and drums. Socially active, her songs remain highly personal, never attempting to preach or impose. A unique trend-setter Danelle is 'the world's first Fair Trade Music Artiste', founding the concept for Fair Trade Music, pledging to dedicate a percentage of proceeds from sales of her music back to worthy causes. Danelle is an advocate for an ecologically sound planet and as the original 'Fair Trade Music Artiste' Danelle began instigating positive changes through her music early in the millennium. Her groundwork has made her a part of a worldwide shift towards making a collective lasting difference.

Danelle cut her teeth in the music industry in the underground soul scene achieving 3 no.1 chart hits. Her varied musical career includes fronting a heavy metal band and being a live vocal stand in for Canadian superstar Deborah Cox. She has shared the bill with the likes of Amy Winehouse and Robin S, worked with P.Diddy, Meatloaf, Fun Loving Criminals, The London Community Gospel Choir, Dee Heron Alison Limerick, Angie Brown, Shaft and Bizarre Inc. as well as P-Funk legends such as George Clinton and Jerome Rodgers.

A unique trend-setter, ‘the world's first Fair Trade media and music artiste’, Danelle is also an advocate for an ecologically sound planet, instigating positive changes through her music way before it was in vogue.

Danelle’s collaborative EP with George Clinton's Keyboard player, Jerome Rodgers, is due for imminent release . After briefly hanging out with George and his P-Funk Allstars, Danelle returned home to finish recording her new album ‘Tortured Soul’.

Her single 'Only Human'- about Making Poverty History is currently available solely as a download from
all major download stores and will be re-released with 2 exclusive remixes on a limited edition 5 track EP (As CD and Download) from Monday 2nd June 2008 available from CD Baby in the US, please visit website and Myspace for worldwide outlets. A percentage of proceeds from all sales from her music is distributed directly between Fair Trade producers in the developing world and other global and humanitarian causes and communities locally and worldwide.

"She’s got a great voice. I love how organic she is, and how raw it is... I love her voice." Simon Webbe

“Danelle’s soulful and reflective approach to music-making brings her in line with Tracey Chapman, while her vocal delivery has the all-woman gusto of Heather Nova or notorious blues/rock legend Janis Joplin.” Hybridlab

“Title track Home is a heartbreaking plea from one lover to another…DaNelle’s voice soars with ease and grace…her voice is beautiful but distinctive containing a sometimes childlike delicacy.”
