"Maybe Broke" is the first song Joey G and I recorded together and the last release from the “Simple Sound” EP

I started writing this song 5 years ago in Costa Rica as our undeniable global climate crisis continued to grow increasingly far more apparent. We also started tracking/recording the song shortly after Donald Drump became the most dangerous man on the planet. While the song does include elements of heartbreak, it is far more a reference to how devastating it will be if we continue to destroy the one place, we currently have access to, that can sustain our shenanigans. #earth

There is nothing more rock n roll than saving the planet.

Also, fun little nuance. Tracked the vocals on this song the day after Nicky Genesis’ “Alice in Wonderland” party so was obviously filled with a lot of love from that evening but perhaps my voice was a little, raw.

Now that the full EP is out, and if you’re curious, we intended you to hear the four-song EP (extended play) in this order:

1. Soul
2. Lady
3. Maybe Broke
4. Simple Sound

Available everywhere. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this project. This music actually took years to write and produce but we kept it tight so fortunately for you, it will only take 12 minutes and 36 seconds of your time to listen from beginning to end.

Let's please all try to be a little bit more active about saving our planet.
