Album Notes
Dan Hanrahan works in English and Portuguese and has a with a long history in alt-folk circles. He has shared the stage with Gordon Gano and received plaudits for his compositions from Eugene Chadbourne and Simmy Disc’s Kramer. Musician and journalist John Kruth, the biographer of Townes Van Zandt and Roy Orbison, has included Hanrahan’s song “Three Waves” into his shows around the world for the last decade. Hanrahan's debut album, Three Waves, is out now and features 13 original songs with influences ranging from Brazilian pop to British Isles folk ballads to Eastern European song traditions. Guest musicians on Three Waves include Miguel Rodriguez (Camper Van Beethoven), Alan Weatherhead (Sparklehorse, Daniel Johnston), Josh Camp (Chi Cha Libre) and Renato Anesi (Tom Zé).
