Album Notes
Out of Nebraska comes a singer-songwriter with Revolver-esque pop/rock sensibilities. Audiences have dubbed his music “thought rock,” which, according to fans, “sounds like cinnamon rolls taste!”

On his album, I AM MERELY SAND, Daniel can be heard singing (of course), and drumming (his first love), as well as playing guitars, percussion, and keyboard instruments. He is joined on guitar by Nashville session player Pat Bergeson, protégé of legendary guitarist Chet Atkins. Formerly with Alison Krauss and Kenny Rogers, Bergeson has been heard with JoDee Messina, Roy Clark, Dolly Parton, and most recently with Annie Sellick, Lyle Lovett, and Randy Travis.

Another session professional, Charlie Chadwick, performs bass guitar responsibilities, and engineers the album. Chadwick, who has been heard with Pam Tillis, Crystal Gayle, Steve Earle, John Jorgenson, Bela Fleck, and David Lee Roth (to name a few), has just earned his second Grammy® Award for his work on Peter Frampton’s Fingerprints project.

“This gem reminds me of James Taylor. Give his disc a listen. Christian is a quality singer-songwriter.” --Absolute Powerpop

“The band soars with great piano and guitar!" --Americana UK

"Excellent!" --A n' R Magazine

“Daniel Christian delivers… You’ll definitely be a fan!” --Awaken Music

“Daniel Christian is a songwriter whose compositions are strong on melody, with intelligent lyrics that challenge the listener. He is a gifted singer and multi-instrumentalist too, playing drums, guitar and keyboards on his new CD. He sings and plays his songs with an intensity and passion that are beyond his years. In a musical landscape where there are so many posers and manufactured artists, Daniel stands out as the real deal.” -- two-time Grammy winner, Charlie Chadwick, Nashville session musician and recording engineer

"Truly wonderful songs written by a gifted singer." --Laurie McClain, Nashville Singer/Songwriter

"A fantastic upbeat sound full of fun and excitement! The CD pulls you away on a journey of great music and lyrics. Daniel has hit a homerun! Do yourself a favor and do not pass this album by." --Joel Michalec, WBTM Radio (Wilmington, Delaware)

“Daniel Christian is what might happen if we merged the Beatles, Son Volt, The Vigilantes of Love, and Bob Dylan is his Memphis blues stage. A solid listen!” --The Phantom Tollbooth

“Christian is so well-versed that his lyrics never cease to be poetic and meaningful.” –Stereo Subversion

“Daniel Christian has a smooth, clear pop voice that is an absolute pleasure to listen to. Reminiscent of some of the best songwriters in pop/rock music.” –Wildy’s World

"A very solid album." --L. Kent Wolgamott, Lincoln Journal-Star, Ground Zer0

This album is so great!
I have been listening to Country and Classic Rock for a long time now. When I listened to the songs I knew that I would feel at home with this album. I hope there are a lot more CD's in the future.

This is one fantastic album!
My husband and I found out about Daniel Christian through a very good friend of ours in Nebraska City, NE that owns and runs Whispering Pines Bed & Breakfast. We had the pleasure of meeting Daniel in person at the Bed & Breakfast. Daniel is one very talented and super nice guy. His range of music is amazing! We have been hooked on his music ever since the first time that we heard him play. This was the first album of his that we purchased. We love this album and highly recommend it to others. We have given several of his CD's as gifts and everybody that has received the CD's has loved his music. Daniel is definitely one musician that will continue to prosper and produce many more great CD's.

WOW - fantastic energy!
Given all the drivel that corporate radio foists on America's airwaves, thank Heaven for artists like Daniel Christian who write songs and create albums like this one! How refreshing it is to hear something so very enjoyable and absolutely worthwhile.
A few things one might notice at first listening: 1) Daniel's skill as a wordsmith 2) the obvious Beatles influence. 3) The excellent production quality, and 4) its cross-generation enjoyability!
Upon reading the liner notes, one would also learn that Daniel is not just a talented singer/songwriter but a skilled, all around musician, responsible for the guitars (the regular ones), drums, piano and organ as well as vocals on this recording. Combine all that with backing from some top Nashville cats and you've got a winner. I can't decide which song is my favorite because that are ALL THAT GOOD!
With this project, DC is bringing heart, insight, and exceptional talent to a generation that is just starving for good music! Let's hope the A&R reps pay attention to "I Am Merely Sand", because THIS is what we need on the radio!
Well done Daniel!
