Album Notes
The Beethoven Sonata No. 2 in G minor is one of five sonatas for cello and piano. This sonata was written and premiered in Berlin 1796 with the composer at the piano and Jean-Louis Duport as cellist. This is Beethoven at his best and the sonata is full of beautiful melodies and fantastic inventions only Beethoven could produce.

The Rachmaninov Cello Sonata in G minor is one of the composer's greatest works and showcases the incredible beauty and sonority of the cello while providing an almost symphonic like piano duet.
