Album Notes
Daniel George Watts studied African polyrhythm and European polyphony at the University of California, Berkeley. His first orchestral work, a piece written in 2006 entitled AFRICAN OVERTURE, includes the Ghanaian double-bell gangkogui, a side stick on the Ghanaian sogo drum, and snare drum. His EIGHT SPIRITUAL SONGS was completed in 2012, followed by TWELVE CLASSIC GEMS FOR VIOLIN AND CELLO in 2013, his OPEN SKY STRING QUARTET in 2015, and his opera IMOGEN UNAFRAID in 2018, which may be listened to without ads on www.youtube.com.
