ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
My name is Daniel Spitalnik, I am a musician - bass guitar player, singer, composer and researcher. Music for me is like going fishing. It is a way to relax and enjoy life. In my shows I present the songs I compose, like Brazilian music. I also play Uruguayan music. I have already played at the Teatro Solar de Botafogo, at the Sala Baden Powell, and at the Drink Café among many other popular places here in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, I am releasing my second solo CD, Lampejo, and it is basically a CD with my songs. It has several styles such as rock, choro, samba, toada and candombe. I graduated from UFRJ with a major in Economics. During my college years I already played music professionally. Later, I did a master’s in ethnomusicology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The focus of my research was Jewish music, and it helped me to meet many interesting people here in Brazil and abroad. My first CD (Para Visitantes, Amigos e Seus Afins), which was recorded some years ago, is very diverse, and it is interesting to see how the CDs are connected: one CD leads to the next one. I hope you enjoy the work that I am here disclosing.
