ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
For centuries, the works of William Shakespeare have inspired readers and influenced nations. In 1997, new life was brought to his great works. Commissioned to marry the personal interaction of the stage with the grandness and emotion of epic film making, 17 year old, Daniel Thompson composed the music for the stage production of Macbeth.

In 2000, Thompson did it again with Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” As sorrow, madness and rage engulfed Hamlet and Ophelia, the audience became entrapped by the subtle undertones of Thompson’s orchestral expressions of their inner turmoil.

In 2004, Thompson’s music gained a new honor as the stage production of King Lear was performed in the Globe Theatre at Southern Utah University’s Shakespearean Festival.

“The William Shakespeare Soundtrack” is the ultimate orchestral collection of these three great works. It brings to life the characters, magic and mayhem of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” “Macbeth” and “King Lear.” So sit back and enjoy the beauty, passion and emotion of Daniel Thompson’s “The William Shakespeare Soundtrack.”
