Complete lyrics:

I’d Never Make it Through

Sometimes, I don’t see my chances growing, the night gets so dark I can’t see through,
You are the reason I keep going, I’d never make it through without you

You came along when I was fading, lifted me up and made me strong,
Parted the storm clouds that were shading, gave me a reason to keep on

You know I’m falling down, without you ‘round, the world seems so empty and so cold, no smile on my face, in this lonely place, without you in my arms to hold

Mile marker signs can sneak right by you, don’t let the good life slip away, keep the ones you care about beside you, tell them that you love ‘em everyday

You know I’ve been down there, in boats of despair, hangin’ on for life on rocky seas,
But you, my child, you made me smile, delivered me from a world of misery

Now I ain’t lookin’ back, there ain’t no reason, the love I have for you was made to last, we will be together through the seasons, all that broke my heart now in the past, all that broke my heart now in the past

Up to You

Paint a little picture, let yourself unwind,
Portrait of a blip made, from time to time,
It ain’t enough to carry, a tired dream forward,
Don’t nobody care about, some old award

You can try to knock me down, but I won’t run,
A little worse for the wear, but I ain’t close to done,
Just because it ain’t like, a simple fairy tail,
Doesn’t mean it’s hopeless, and just doomed to fail

Boats coming in, over the ridge, so they’re lifting the bridge, for a while,
When you’re all bottled up, got no room in your cup, for a smile,
It’s a long way to here, and the path stretches out to the sea,
You can, weep or rejoice, it’s your choice, how you want your life to be

Take a little trip now, somewhere back in years,
Look at that young man, overcome by fears,
He never made no peace with, that clarion call,
Now he wants to let go, and let the damn chips fall

Ain’t no way to decode, when you’re out on the road, how it ends,
Every twist, every wind, can just weigh on your mind, as it bends,
It’s a long way to there, and the map don’t decide, your destiny,
So keep on, or give up, live it up, no one else can set you free,

When the Day is Done

You don’t always gotta be so down, you don’t always gotta be so sad, every ripple turns into a wave, and it crashes up against you bad,
And you can’t complete a sentence, and you can’t impose no rhyme,
And when the day is done, just like everyone, you just need a place to hide

Well you’re just about to slip right down, the abyss that you can clearly see,
And I’m beggin’ you to turn around, the road back ain’t necessarily free,
Just underneath the surface, ‘bout ready to explode,
When the day is done, in your heart you run, kickin’ answers down the road

All in a day of dread, for the menace in your head, I’m pretty sure you’ll be alright, once the sun retreats tonight…

Well you got me just a bit concerned, got the air of such a desperate man,
And your answers are all too short-term, don’t appear to have an exit plan,
If there’s a way to stop the bleeding, I gather that you’ve tried,
When the day is done, in your heart you run, second in the race with time,
When the day is done, in your heart you run, second in the race with time

I’ll Get Along

I’ll get along, ain’t gonna die, I’ll admit it’s pretty hard sometimes not to, hang your head and cry
Seen better days, than the ones just gone, you know it’s gonna, be alright if we can, simply carry on

Nobody knows, don’t they ever wonder? How long you can stay down, calling for help, ain’t nobody running, did everyone leave town?

Gonna look ahead, ain’t got no choice, a new year and a new way forward, tuning out the noise,
No one knows the way, no answer’s clear, sooner or later everyone finds out, we’re all just guessing here

So look out boys, you might think, you’ve got a handle on the pain, but no sooner will, you call it a season, then you’ll come ‘round again

So I’ll get along, it’s gonna be alright, it’s a merry-go-round, you’re up and you’re down, ‘till you, rest your head at night, it’s a merry-go-round, you’re up and you’re down, ‘till you, rest your head at night

No Closer to Home

I’m no closer to home, I still don’t have a clue, I don’t know where to go, I don’t know what to do, I’m thinking about time, feels like less left some nights, I guess it ain’t that bad, I guess I’ll be alright

I’ve seen the open door, reminding me of then, back in another time, we’ll find our way again, so many spirals down, that hold you in a fog, been dreaming in these colors, that I never saw

I guess what’s left is gonna be what is, it never was gonna happen, the way you wish, but they don’t understand, and you ain’t to blame, if they don’t wanna know, it’s their own damn shame

I’ve told you all my secrets, I put away my pride,
I’m trying for no regrets, I got nothing to hide,
I’m tired of being lonely, a prisoner in my head,
Only myself to blame for, where I let myself be led,

If I make just make it through, to another day, I guess that’s all I really needed to say, Sooner or later, you reconcile with doubt,
Nobody ever really figures it out

I’m heading down this road, the wind blowing in my ears, no longer can I make out, dashed hopes in rear-view mirrors, no matter what life throws you, can’t sit cryin’ ‘bout yesterday, no telling what’s ahead now, you’re only alive today, only alive today

Only See Red

It’s getting so, you just don’t even know, how to begin to relate,
the only soul, who ain’t in on the joke, you caught the punchline too late,
many’s the time that you could have just gone, so easily with the flow,
it takes nothing to say nothing or yes, it takes a lot to say no

So let us ride, underneath this moon, wind is howling through my head, the world’s untied, and getting cast aside, sometimes I can only see red, sometimes I can only see red

It’s getting so, you don’t even know, which way is up to the sun,
A ray of light, starts to burn in the day, you’re left with nowhere to run
Try harder, but nothing gets easier, kinda feels like high noon,
Lot of people got the desperate fears here, maybe it’s gonna be soon, maybe it’s gonna be soon

So let us fly, under the evening sky, not every dream is yet dead, but the world’s untied, and getting cast aside, sometimes I can only see red, sometimes I can only see red

Second to None

You don’t have to cry, my little girl,
It all will be OK, in this old world,
Daddy’s holding on to you so tight,
Everything is gonna be alright

Let me dry your tears, my little one,
Always know that you’re second to none,
Nothing’s ever easy to explain,
Since you arrived, my life ain’t been the same

I wish that you would never suffer,
Wish you’d never know of pain,
Along with your mama and your brother,
We’ll get through any snow or rain

In the morning, angel dressed in white,
See you, I know everything’s alright,
So put away those fears you’re thinking of,
Nothing stands a chance against this love

Breaks me up to see you aching,
To know there’s things I can’t control,
But don’t let your heart go breaking,
Got so much beauty in your soul

You don’t have to cry my little girl,
It all will be OK in this old world,
But we all got each other now, you see,
There’s nothing else we’re ever gonna need,

We all got each other now, you see, nothing else we’re ever gonna need

Never to be Found

You know there’s a chance it could get better, there’s nowhere it’s written it can’t ever, in the chilly night, lit by stars, on your own
tune the chaos out like static, it all seems so automatic,
throw the pain off somewhere, never to be found

You know you might not realize it, would you even recognize it?
If relief could somehow rear its pretty head?
Don’t rule out any chance of hope, however infinitely remote,
don’t sit ruining your life about what’s been said

So they tried to,
Well you tried too,
Guess your best was good but couldn’t keep the pace
So you lost fans, it’s out of your hands,
I can see the disappointment on your face

You know there’s a chance it could get better, there’s nowhere it’s written it can’t ever, a sunny day has a way of taking you down,
No one knows if they will survive it, just get in the car and drive it,
Throw the pain out somewhere, never to be found

So they lied to you,
So you lied, too
Is that anything but old news that should be gone?
So they don’t like you, what can you do?
Isn’t anybody, gonna sing along?
Isn’t anybody, gonna sing along?
Isn’t anybody, gonna sing along?

I can’t get around, the towering wall, I can’t get around, nothing at all,
It’s a scary thought, where you go, I can’t look at that, I can’t know

Sundown streaming in, upstairs windows, hearing things creakin’ round, don’t know if something goes,
I’m a prisoner, of what I can’t see, I’m afraid of, what only might be

You’re holding on to a slice of shore, but high tide’s gonna swallow you up for sure, there’s something you can never seem to lose, seems like swimming in the seaweed blues

High above you now, up in the trees, something bringing you, down to your knees, way down in the grass, your story’s told, through the summer sun, and winter’s cold

You’re holding on as you’re wading in, had second thoughts about trading in, life that you got, once you had to choose, sounds like swimming in the seaweed blues

People hurrying around in their cars, but in the end it’s all up to the stars, You could fill the sky with all that you don’t know, only way to keep it is to let it go, only way to keep it is to let it go

This Love’s Gonna Stay

Spirit that moves you, is the spirit that bleeds,
Side by side, I need to keep you with me,
It’s all you can do, sometimes to get through a day,
No matter what happens, this love’s gonna stay,

Sometimes you can’t, draw a single good card,
You fall and you stumble, just breathing is hard,
Whatever tomorrow holds, we’ll find our way,
No matter what happens, this love’s gonna stay

(bridge) I know you get sad, and I know you got fears,
I know that you needed me, and I wasn’t here,
Didn’t want to bring on, the hurt you feel now,
From building you up and, then letting you down
From building you up and, then letting you down

Look in on you sleeping, so peaceful tonight,
It’s all gonna work out, and all be alright,
We’ll take what’s good, and keep the bad guys away,
No matter what happens, this love’s gonna stay,
No matter what happens, this love’s gonna stay
