Album Notes
Dan Kincaid is a Los Angeles based singer/songwriter/guitarist with a deep love for all things rock!

During his time in Los Angeles, Dan has fronted a number of bands such as Spit Out Star, SuperNo, and Six Days ’Til Sunday. Dan also lent his talents on bass to the band Synical.

When asked about the bands he’s been involved with, Dan had this to say:
“Whether it be hard rock, industrial rock, electronic rock, or metal, I am always deeply passionate about the music I’m playing. I’ve learned something new from each and every project I’ve been a part of. I always put my heart and soul into everything I do. I’ve been fortunate enough to play with some amazing musicians over the years. Collaborating with other great musicians has always been paramount in my career. They inspire me to be the best I can be and hopefully I inspire them as well. That is the goal. That’s where great music comes from!”

On his departure from his previous band Six Days ’Til Sunday:
“Six Days ’Til Sunday was a great learning experience for me. I poured myself into the music. Writing that album was a bit cathartic. I became a much better songwriter, arranger, and producer. I exorcised some demons on that one! (laughs) Lyrically, I poured my heart out on a number of tough subjects. I feel like I really accomplished all I set out to do musically on that album. I’m very proud of it. In the end, it was just time for me to move on.”

On the present:
“I’ve continued to hone my songwriting skills. I’m always striving to make a deeper connection with myself and with those who listen to my music. Call it a bit of an obsession if you will. In the middle of my search for a new sound I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Christian Eigner of Depeche Mode at a party. We talked a lot that night about life and music. He asked me to send him some tunes. After listening, he sent me a text message and asked if I’d be interested in working on some of my music with him. I was both flattered and floored at the same time! Two weeks later we were in the studio recording!

Christian is an amazing drummer! I don’t think people really know what an awesome rock drummer he is. He plays for the song and brings an amazing energy to everything he does. After working together a bit we discussed him and his engineer/mixing genius Niko Stoessl producing some tracks for me.

I’ve never handed my music off to someone else and said “Do whatever you want!” but in this case it could not have been a better decision. These guys knocked it out of the park! “Without You” and “Rise Above” both became even more epic songs with their approach! It’s very rare to find someone that just gets you, never mind two people, but these two did just that and the results are spectacular! Niko is a master of awesome guitar FX and an awesome producer. Couple that with Christian’s drumming and production skills and you have an unstoppable team! You can hear their handy work on the links above.

My main goal now is to make every song better than the last one. And I’m very happy with the results.”

On the future:
“This is a new chapter for me. It’s my opportunity to create the best music I’ve ever written. I’m extremely excited for what the future holds! I really can’t say what this new album is going to sound like. I’m going to let the music dictate to me what it wants to be. But I will tell you this, it’s going to rock! It’s going to be my greatest musical creation!” - Dan Kincaid
