ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Dan Marshall Band

The Band formed in the early 1990’s and quickly took the Rock Clubs in Long Island and NYC by storm.
.
Dan Marshall, the lead vocalist hooked up with two of the areas guitar monsters( Glen Sherman and Frank Ferrara )to form the Dirt Roots Band that later became the Dan Marshall Band.

The Band went onto area stages with a growing following and the reputation of providing solid guitar rock shows that emphasized a “Southern Boogie Attack”. The shows always ended with the band in full improvisation and closing the set with their trademark song Two Kinds of People.

The Band was solicited to back up major artists who came to the NY . They headlined the Katie Beers Benefit Concert in 1994 with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.

When Southern Rock Bands and Blues made a rival in the early 90’s the Band backed up the The ALLMAN BROS and LYNYRD SKYNYRD at the Ritz in NYC . They also backed up MOLLY HATCHET and BLUE OYSTER CULT during the mid 90’s.

After attracting Rob Ferbonie producer of the Rolling Stones and Bob Marley to capture their live sound on tape, the band released their Self Titled EP in 1998.

The Band went on tour to promote their EP and in 2001 recorded a live CD at PENN STATE .

The Dan Marshall Band recorded many of their songs they played live but were never satisfied with the recordings because of how they did’nt translate same energy as their live shows.

Finally in 2004 Dan Marshall was convinced by a long time friend of the Band to release a compilation of the bands studio tracks, unreleased songs, and a few live recordings.

The Dan Marshall Band released two songs (Two Kinds of People and Rave n Roll ) on college radio and with very little promotion the songs were in the top forty for three and half months ON 200 PLUS STATIONS , the song Rave n Roll was 29th overall in 2005 on Garageband.com.

This Box Set is dedicated to great fans of the Band!!!
