ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mr. Dean Jobb noted author, journalist, and teacher gave permission to use his photo of the Acadian Flag to use as artwork for my song Scattered and Near Forgotten. Mr. Jobb wrote the marvelous book The Acadians about their tragic deportation by the British more than 250 years ago. He is the author of numerous highly praised books. His website is at www.deanjobb.com

Award winning singer and producer Danny Mack marvelously sings Scattered and Near Forgotten with heart, conviction, and depth.
This song is about courage, love for family, home, and hearth and love of liberty. The song lyric belows describes the plight and the great strength of the Acadians to stand up for what they believed in spite of their suffering that followed. Though Scattered, they survive and thrive today.

SCATTERED AND NEAR FORGOTTEN

THE ACADIANS PAINFUL PLIGHT WAS WRITTEN ON THE WINDS
SCATTERED AND NEAR FORGOTTEN WERE THE ACADIANS
AFTER CENTURIES OF SUN, AND SNOW, AND COLD COLD RAIN
THE QUEEN''S APOLOGY COMES THOUGH THE STAIN WILL REMAIN

THE QUEEN MIGHT'VE MEANT IT. SHE MIGHT'VE TRULY CARED
BUT WORDS ARE ONLY WORDS. THEY CANNOT BE COMPARED
TO THE LIVES THAT WERE LOST; TO THE FAMILIES TORN APART
ACADIA THEIR BELOVED COUNTRY SUFFERED A BROKEN HEART

LET'S KEEP ALIVE THEIR MEMORIES OF OLD GRAND PRE
WHERE THEY KEPT TO HEARTH, FARMS, FAITH, AND HISTORY
FORCED FROM THEIR HOMES THEY DID NOT GIVE GROUND
THEY WOULD NOT BOW DOWN BEFORE THE BRITISH CROWN

THEY COULDN'T TAKE THAT OATH IT WOULD'VE MEANT SOUL'S END
INSTEAD SCATTERED TO THE WINDS WERE FAMILY AND FRIEND
MAY GOD BLESS ALL THE ACADIANS FOR THEIR TRUE BRAVERY
LONG MAY THEY LIVE IN OUR HEARTS FOR THEY LOVED LIBERTY!

COUPLET AND FADE:

SCATTERED AND NEAR FORGOTTEN BUT NOT BY YOU AND ME
