Album Notes
\"Truth Be Told\", it\'s about the songs. \"Truth Be Told\" is the name of my debut CD. It has 14 original songs culled from studio sessions at Junior\'s Motel studio, plus \"A Little Love\" written and recorded even more recently at Muddy Multi-Media.
In my teens, twenties, and thirties, hitch-hiking coast-to-coast, living in LA, NYC, SF; touring and traveling more of the USA, Dallas, Denver, San Jose, Wyoming, IL, ND, SD, MT, NV, UT, WI, FL, working for a musician\'s agency out of Minneapolis; all-the-while writing songs influenced by The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, The Stones, Neil Young, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds (Kim Wilson), Hank Williams, etc., until currently living peacefully in Clinton, IA with family and friends, fellow musicians, and with the whole world just beyond our fingertips... Not looking to be a \"star\", just plugging away as a songwriting artist, painting in words and music.
After years of laying low, doing day jobs, staying happy working on my multi-instrumental chops, playing in cover song dance bands with some solo gigs on the side and enjoying it, in February 2008 I made a home recorded 6 song demo. It sounded better than expected. So I decided to sign up for a sound engineering and recording class, and then went to Junior\'s Motel studio, where Kirk Kaufman has recorded artists as diverse as Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, The Hawks, The Unidynes, and even Slipknot... ...recording 34 different original songs, literally only one take each, in less than 6 hours...
My heart and soul is in each lyrical syllable and musical phrase.
Thanks for looking and listening. God willing, there\'s a lot more to come! This is living the dream...

Concise descriptions of songs on the \"Truth Be Told\" CD:

-The song “Hallelujah!” is a spectrum of emotions, but realistically happy, blues number.

-“Money Comes And Money Goes” plays like a classic blues rock standard with a universal theme.

-”I Believe What I Want” is a Bob Seger / Stevie Ray Vaughan influenced romp.

-”Mississippi Mud” features scenes of growing up in river city Clinton, IA ala CCR and Jackson Browne.

-“Must Be Doing Something Right” is a bare light bulb blues.

- “No Fool Like A Wise Man In Love” is a blues that speaks for itself.

-”I’m Blue Without You” is a Led Zeppelin influenced country blues.

-”For The Love For You” is a straight on blues dance rock tune.

-”Everything About You” is a true, fun tribute to the best friend / lover.

-”A Little Love” is a driving ooh-la-la blues rock.

-”I Feel Better!” is a cross between The Beatles’ “She‘s A Woman“ and “I Feel Fine”.

-”Early After Midnight” is a ballad about a young couple ala Bruce Springsteen’s “The River”.

-”Yeah, Right!” ...Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Dan Peart, really?!? ...yeah, right!

-”Isn’t That The Truth…” is the “Truth Be Told” CD’s distant, little cousin to “Blowin’ In The Wind”.

Truth Be Told
I love the music of this artist. Listening to these songs makes me believe today will be better than yesterday. Please list more of your original music.

You\'re right, I do feel better!
At first listen I thought this could use some more instruments. The more I hear it, this is the real deal! The lyrics and vocals are complimented nicely by the unvarnished guitar and harmonicas. The songs grow on you.

Dan, this is an awesome CD. I like Stevie Ray Vaughn and now this CD will be one of my favorites. Thanks for the good time last night, New Years Eve, at the Odean. Keep up the good work. See Ya'.
