Album Notes
Dan Steven ...

who is a passionate
singer/songwriter, honest
and spontaneous in his joy
of music and story

who is a faithful friend and
kind to those in need

who is a world traveller and
lover of world rhythms

who hears the voice of God
and is at peace.

has been on an unexpected but
extraordinary journey these past three
and a half years following diagnosis
of a brain tumour. But some of his
hundreds of songs, mostly written prior
to treatment, were recorded after diagnosis.

Dan's second CD, "Voices from God",
truly lives up to its name. It is a gift,
literally, as Dan's vocals and guitar
tracks were recorded before anyone
knew of the recurrence of his cancer.
As his illness progressed, Dan
continued to direct the production and
mixing of the record, even from his
bed. Dan's journey has now taken a
turn ... as he has followed "the flow of
the rising tide" and is now
"oceans away, playing music..."

ultimately all about hope and resurrection, the artist refuses to avert his gaze
In Dan Steven's second album, Voices from God, the artist counsels memory, letting go, and a vision that can see beyond the sky. Remembering, relinquishment and vision - this is the stuff of prophecy. And when that prophecy is spoken in the face of death and hopelessness, it breaks through with comforting and radical hope.

Rather than focusing on his struggles, he (Dan) wanted to give the glory to Christ - and to tell his listeners about the joy that heaven brings. One song that powerfully carries that message is "Waiting for the Resurrection", which is among the CD's best tracks. It is at once both a love song and a profound confession of faith and hope.

Moving, Uplifting, Hopeful and Comforting
Listening to this CD was a moving experience. The artists words are comforting and hopeful. A very thoughtful and relaxing CD.

A Talent Most Surely from God!!
Dan's music takes me all over the place from flying a kite, which I bought after I heard Kite Flying, to instructing that folks Dance at my Funeral!! I love his deep connection to God while keeping his feet on the ground. Dan and I share a connection - we both have brain tumors. So, it's no small matter for me to hear music from a young man so talented. It hurts that his talented life has been cut short by these diseases, and it makes me want to shout from the top of the hills to people to give money to find cures for brain tumors for young people. I'm and old woman, and my life is almost over, but this young man was full of life! Please, let's cure brain tumors! And buy Dan Steven's other album, Beggers and Kings!!

Extraordinary and inspirational
Dan's new Cd is truly inspirational! His songs are filled with words of peace and happiness, making the listener feel closer to the angels in Heaven. All of the songs are upbeat and lively, makes you want to sing along with him. I can listen to his songs over and over and never tire of his soulful voice.

An Amazing Gift
I have had this CD on during the majority of my waking hours these past few days. It is all that I have been listening to … if not in my stereo then in my portable player.

Dan’s lyrics offers an introspection which if everyone embraced would make the world a much better place. The music is amazing in every respect; catchy melodies and chord structure. His voice is as amazing and soulful as what he has to say.

.You'll not be disappointed! Amazing writer, amazing voice, amazing lyrics
Very moving CD. It touches the heart on many levels. The CD is playful at times, very mellow at other times...just simply wants to make you sing along. The lyrics make the listener think about life, joy, pain, peace, the resurrection. Its a very different CD..where the lyrics actually are worth signing along too. One will not be diappointed.
