ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The “Costa Man” Darin Talbot sings “Puravidaville” on the Marlin Del Rey Catarmaran out of Tamarindo for his new music video. Award winning singer/songwriter Darin Talbot (www.darintalbot.com) explains how he came up with the name Puravidaville. “I was singing Piano Man by Billy Joel at a restaurant called the Happy Snapper in Brazalito and the bartender and I hit it off. I knew we would be friends when I sang the line ‘John at the bar is a friend of mine he gets me my drinks for free’. Immediately the bartender slid a cold Imperial beer down the bar and said ‘my name is John’ and everyone at the bar laughed. Later that night I sang “Margaritaville” by Jimmy Buffett and John yelled out “you should say Puravidaville!”. The crowd loved it and it instantly fit. Later that night I knew I had something but I wasn’t going to change Jimmy’s song. I love and respect Jimmy so much. He is my childhood idol. Fans sometimes call me “The Jimmy Buffett of Costa Rica” which I am very flattered by. So I decided to sit down and write a completely fresh song about the happiest place I know. The song came easy just like everything in Costa Rica. Its the town where the population truly smiles 365 days a year.
