MATTTERS OF LIFE AND BREATH: POET LEWIS MAC ADAMS
and PERFORMANCE ARTIST THE DARK BOB, DEBUT WILD NEW CD DEAR OXYGEN

What the Hell Is This?

It’s a collaboration between poet Lewis MacAdams and performance artist The Dark Bob. It’s words and music, sound stories, voice essays, poems, letters and songs - matters of life and death. Lewis MacAdams’ most recent books are Birth of The Cool and The River: Books 1,2 & 3. He is currently writing a biography of Jann Wenner, founder of Rolling Stone, A frequent contributor to National Public Radio’s Day to Day, he is the founder of Friends of The Los Angeles River. Lewis has published 11 volumes of poetry and performed his work all over the U.S. and Europe. His writing has appeared in Rolling Stone, the Los Angeles Times, and Entertainment Weekly.

The dark half of the well-known performance art duo, Bob & Bob, The Dark Bob and partner Paul Bob were recently featured in the landmark exhibition “Los Angeles 1955-1985: Birth of An Art Capital” in 2006 at Paris’ Centre Pompidou. He contributed to the soundtrack of actor-comedian Andy Dick’s new feature film, “Danny Roane: First Time Director”. The Dark Bob has performed and exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. His latest CD is Stoked!

Also contributing to the CD is multi-Grammy award winner, John Chelew on guitar, and drummer Danny Frankel, who has worked with Lou Reed, Beck and K,D, Laing.

“This was a true collaboration, “ says MacAdams, “We wrote it together, both in and out of our minds, together at the studio or home alone, In the year that this project evolved, Dear Oxygen has never been far from our thoughts.” “It was so easy,” agreed The Dark Bob “I barely remember doing it.”
