Album Notes
Melodic, intense, delicate, dynamic. However you describe it, Darkroom's sound is certainly far from typical. And with an eclectic range of influences, each member of the Winona Lake, Indiana five-piece adds his own musical taste to create a collective unique sound. Convinced that music is more than a product, the band creatively and carefully approaches each song as an artistic display of raw human emotion. Darkroom recently released their full-length “A Curious Excavation” on March 31, 2007 and continue to play shows in the midwest as well as touring other parts of the country.

WOW!!! VERY Etheral and Magical !
From album cover to content within this album is special. I enjoy the rich qualities of the keys contrasted by the emotional delivery of sonic guitar. This album has the ability to take your thoughts out of this world and take you somwhere new. WOW!!!VERY Etheral and Magical !

Absolutely beautiful. :) The artwork is fantastic, too. ^_^

John Book, Music For America

An album by a band deserving of the accolades
Darkroom are from Indiana, although with the music that is present on A Curious Excavation (self-released), they will be ready to travel the world.

The group play some great power-pop with a few British sensibilities, and the kind of edginess that is reminiscent of many alternative bands of the late 80's/early 90s. The power-pop side comes their love of great melodies, song structure, and lyrics, yet without falling into the pits of the pop unknown. In other words it's music you want to hear in a crowd while everyone jumps in unison, whether it's about the celebration of love (the title track), life ("Veranda"), or questioning the existence of ones self ("Afraid").

Some of the material also touches on the spirituality of the band, but it isn't overbearing to where it is the only thing they sing about. They play the kind of well-orchestrated music that sounds big and bold, where you want to tell the world "this is my band" and head to every show you can afford. I am very impressed by the songwriting, and combined with their music, Darkroom are a group that should rightfully be in the pop and rock spotlight.
