ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Darryl Morris offers a blend of acoustic music filled with romantic, playful, political and sometimes dark subject matters. Like a collection of short stories that are thematically linked, he reflects on the deeper meanings of life's mysteries from unique advantage points and rarely considered angles that are quite thought provoking. Through his music Darryl strives to offer everything one would crave in a songwriter -passion, originality and important messages that encourage listeners to know themselves a little better.

The primary and spiritual sources of his music come from such activists as Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and Angela Davis. Darryl has been welcomed and received as a solo acoustic artist in various venues throughout the United States. Fresh off a captivating 40-city NACA college tour, the BMI published artist, is described as "introspective and reflective with the ability to share life's meanings and mysteries with his audience." Darryl has been musically influenced by the brilliance and melodic imagery of Jimi Hendrix and Freddie Mercury of Queen, the lyrical perseverance of James Taylor, Tracy Chapman, and Elton John's Bernie Taupin.

Darryl would like to have the opportunity to perform music that can be experienced by all people of the world regardless of age, sex, color, and/or ethnic origins. His main goal is to make a positive impact on an individual's consciousness by creating music to be enjoyed and remembered.

Excellent songwriting and production...
I get a ton of promotional CDs in the mail and very rarely does something capture my ear. "My Name" was an exception. Heard it via a friend's recommendation and liked it so much that I bought a copy myself. I wish more artists will spend as much time on their writing as Darryl does. And I wish they'd have the fresh perspective like he does...this isn't the same old, cliched/formula stuff more folks put out. Can't wait to hear more from him!

REAL NICE
Oh thank God someone out there is breathing life into songwriting. This cd is excellent- a definite purchase. Words seem senseless to describe the feeling that captivates you when you listen. I'm a fan.
