ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hailing from the village of Wanlockhead in Scotland's Dumfries and Galloway Dave’s songwriting is firmly rooted in the tradition of the storyteller.

Contemporary and historical sources offer a wealth of material for songs that are performed in a style driven by his unique fingerpicking guitar playing. Subjects on this CD (his first, released in 1999) range from forced emigration to the Americas (the haunting The Leaving) to the joys of getting a row for coming home Drunk (Friday Night Ritual).
