Songs of Brooklyn is a fun work – it traces the history, in a breezy way, of my home borough from the late 16th century through the present. It includes an account of the Battle of Brooklyn, a blues called “Weeksville,” a song celebrating the Mermaid Parade and (for the 21st century) one called “Beards and Beer!”
