Album Notes
DPS Backstage Featuring David Allen Baker is a live DVD/CD 2-disk package recorded in May of 2012 in front of an audience of 100 friends and fans on a wonderful soundstage at DPS, Inc. in Irvine, Ca. The show was originally set to broadcast nationally but the deal fell through. The great news is that it is available in this package and it is beautiful. 10 very strong songs and performances with David Allen Baker and Rick Cowling, Jr. (of Ambrosia and Kenny Loggins fame) combining their talents to provide a powerful viewing and listening experience. Among the songs are "Los Angeles", which ran for two years (with lyrics re-written for New York) as the promo music for "Third Watch" on NBC. Also included is the big ballad "Holding On To Nothing" written with Jim Daddario, a number 1 hit songwriter from Nashville. Included in the DVD production are interviews with DAB setting the scene for each performance or describing the songwriting inspiration or process. The mood runs from intimate to stadium, with the utilization of percussion loops in some songs. Enjoy!
