ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
David and Rick Cunha collaborated in the 60s under the name Dawson and Cunha; later they formed Hearts and Flowers. On the cutting edge of the folk/country/rock explosion, this group recorded two albums for Capital Records and had a regional hit called Rock and Roll Gypsies. Rick Cunha said about his friend: “Playing music with Dave has always been one of my great pleasures.” Bass player, Terry Paul, another lifelong musical friend said, “My Braddah from a nadda Maddah, making music with you and Rick is one of my favorite things to do.”
The autoharp has a full string sound and a unique placement in the musical mix. “The autoharp is such a wonderful sounding instrument and David makes it sing,” said Bryon Berline, fiddler extraordinaire. I think you will agree.
David’s rich voice is a real treat. Peter Feldman, bluegrass music aficionado had this to say: “Dave’s approach to music is true to the old form, with knowledge and respect for the singers of the past. Always a pleasure to listen to.” I think you will agree.
“Dave has blossomed as a songwriter,” said Rick Cunha. His songs are catchy and stay with you. Byron Berline added: “I know David to be a warm and friendly guy and I bet his new recording will make you feel the same way and probably make you want to sing. Thanks David for your wonderful music.”
