Album Notes
Take a trip through the dimension of time backward to the evolving present of a musician, hear instruments no longer made on magnetic tape no longer used, fantasias on piano, fuzzed freakouts on guitar, jazz improvisations on organ, from the first sighting of land in “Island” to the heartbreak of “Divided,” hear the early influences of folk, rock, blues, ragtime, jazz and classical in David’s music, the fervor, striving and sometimes overreaching of youth, the boundless sense of discovery and experimentation --

“I invite you to come along on my MEMORY JOURNEY.”

David Francis: vocals, upright piano, theatre organ, combo organ, bass pedals, acoustic 6-, 12-, classical and electric 12-string guitar, lap steel, harmonica, recorder, toy piano, violin

"David Francis," "Fake Valentine," "Poems," On a Shingle Near Yapton," "Cassette" and "Improvisation" are also on CDBaby.

Listening tonight to both sides of your double album, I detect a lot of flautery. That's the word for flute playing, I think. Anyway, some semi-classical that magically becomes jazz is what I think I heard. I'd make something of that if I had the talent. Super the way I heard it. I mean by including it in the album you already did. Now I am listening to side two again. Start with soft instrumental & vocals leads to even more interesting instrumental. Many of my paintings are made of at least two styles. In your album I think I hear Cali beach music, zydeco with other variations. Now it's almost seven -- the third time listening to side three while doing my own mundane things. Another soft guitar and vocal. Will listen more later.
