Album Notes
I remember long, lonely summer days when the piano kept me sane. Nostalgic fall afternoons. Restless spring nights. (There is no real winter in the South where I grew up.) Nights when I almost fell asleep under the piano or the organ until reluctantly climbing the stairs to my bedroom. Rainy days after the long drive home from college when I finally got to sit in the music room, alone, to try out a new melody or simply to express some pent-up emotion.

Improvisation is something one can do in solitude or with others. Either way, it is a delight and an adventure.

Whether taped or not, the true musical moment is eternal. I’m fortunate to have taped a good deal of those moments and I hope you may enjoy some of them.

David Francis: piano, organ, acoustic and electric guitar
Ed Vargas: electric guitar, harmonica on “Stopover” and “Geodes in Autumn”
