Album Notes
Unforgettable melodies, lyrics and the trademark guitar wizardry that's defined a legend. These are the foundation of 10,000 Feet, the newest release from Texas guitarist and songwriter David Grissom.
An edgy blend of rock, blues, and Texas country 10,000 Feet conveys a message of hope and renewal that David tailors to be universal, yet true to his style and roots.
While the lyrical emphasis is heavy, David's distinct guitar sound always finds it's place, complementing the vocals, and leaving the instrumental tracks hard hitting.
David has toured and recorded with artists such as John Mellencamp, The Dixie Chicks, Joe Ely, Buddy Guy, Storyville, The Allman Brothers Band, and many others. His songs have been recorded by Trisha Yearwood, John Mayall, Montgomery Gentry, Webb Wilder, Storyville, and others.

I love David Grissom, I loved the rawness of the first record, even thou this one sounds more polished, I love his songs, and tasty guitar playing. I will always be a fan

David Grissom Strikes Again!
We all knew David was a guitarist extraordinare. We now know that his first solo effort, "Loud Music" was most definately NOT a fluke!! Great songs and lyric, poignant stories. If you don't have both of David's solo CD's, you're missing out.

David's playing is always a revelation, but it's his singing and songwriting that takes this to another level for me. It makes me feel like I'm deep in the heart of Texas when I listen to it..in the middle of a gale force wind and rocking totally out, or high and lonesome in some dusty, sleepy town with my heart breaking.

Even Better
Loud Music was good, this one is better. Good Day for the Blues is awesome and David's guitar work brings back fond memories of Storyville.

The Best Artist Nobody Knows About
Wow, every time I listen to this CD I catch another killer guitar lick or another great turn of phrase. I'm glad Dave decided to feature more vocal work on this CD because his delivery has something all too often missing in most of today's music - true honesty! He makes you FEEL the joy of new love sitting in that jet at 10,000 feet! I'm not saying he's the greatest vocalist in the world - just that I'd rather listen to him than some American Idol wannabe who turns every song into a vocal exercise! The only thing that bums me out is that now I gotta wait for his next CD!!

If you want GREAT Texas roots rock with killer musicianship – this is the CD for you.

A Magnum Opus
One of the best melodic rock albums of all time. Serious. If you're a guitar afficionado, then you've come to the right place to worship at the altar. But there's more, much more to this great recording. I suppose that behind every truly great guitar player there is a musical sense which goes beyond the frets and how fast or smoothly the fingers scurry across the neck. For me, it's the melodies and they are ample here. As far as pure songwriting goes, the selections here excel. Even if he never played a note, DG is one of the greatest contemporary songwriters in the vein of great Americana Rock and Roots that I have heard in a great while. My favs are: Keep a Rollin' On, 10,000 feet, Jet Trails in the Sky and of course, Good Day for the Blues. But all tunes rock mightily, and the melodic sense and progressions are just so refreshing...the transitions really sublime... A tour de force, to be sure. I wish the vocals were more upfront. David has a delicate and very melodic voice, and I just had a bit of trouble hearing the lyrics to 10.,000 feet clearly...my only "complaint". Can't wait for his next offering.

Something about David's playing makes me drive too fast, I'm going to get a ticket!Sake and Venom all over again. I love it. Rocking the roads of the UK again. Keep a Rollin' On.

I was disappointed at the time Storyville split up, but David returns with an awesome album which reminds me several times to Storyville. Untill now the best album of 2009!!

Great stuff
David is an amazing guitar player with so much feeling. His PRS DGT guitar has a "monster tone". 10'000 feet has 12 great songs and the title "Dover Soul" is a killer track. Buy it and enjoy it. I love it.
