Album Notes
David Kav has been singing for as long as he can remember. Watching his aunt play guitar as a kid (who learned from his father...whom David has never met,) he was intrigued by the seemingly intimidating instrument. Well, of course, as fate would have it, David would follow his (what once seemed like an) infatuation for music by listening to his mother's record collection of Journey, Boston, Neil Young, Chicago records which led to very basic piano lessons which led to clarinet (whahuh?) lessons. David was first chair until 7th grade.

Once David found out that he'd have to keep playing the "licorice stick" in order to learn something cool, like, the saxophone, he immediately dropped that and wouldn't pick up another instrument until he was given an acoustic guitar in 8th grade as a graduation present. Little did the family know that the guitar would be a permanent fixture in his life (just like his father before him, apparently. Genes, huh?)

This led to talent showcases, two rock bands (Comatose and All Things Considered,) a side project (Kampus Project,) and "a partridge in a pear tree" (aka David's debut CD "Look Into My Eyes" - just released last year in 2007.) His forthcoming CD will be out later this year (hopefully.)

David is grateful to Uncommon Ground, to Kat and to the Shure Open Mics for helping him get his feet "in the door" at this prestigious venue.

See you at the show!

Peace, love and music!
David Kav

Look Into My Eyes
I enjoy this CD,but think that he should do more with back up singers & better orchestration;I look forward to future expansion of his talents.CDBaby is the place to have one's music expansion-NH Fan!

After hearing him perform last night I haven't been able to not listen to his cd. His passion and love of music came right through on it. The cd packed with great lyrics (his own), amazing guitar, and outsanding vocals. This is truly a great cd, and I'm impressed. I don't think that it can really be classified in a specific genre. Its really versatile and many people can enjoy it.

I abolutely love it. great job!

BUY THIS CD....You won't regret it.
I bought this CD on a whim, and I'm BEYOND pleasantly surprised.

If you're the type of person who likes a musician who's passionate about their music...and proves that passion in their delivery of a song - then buy this CD.

If you're the type of person who wants to enjoy an ENTIRE CD...perhaps enough to play it over and over again - then buy this CD.

If you believe in supporting new artists, new music, new voices...and pure talent - then buy this CD.

And in case you're skeptical... I am in no way affiliated with this artist. I'm not a relative, not girlfriend....not an agent - just a brand new fan.

Thanks for giving my goosebumps David!

A Fan in Indy,
Jen R

Guitar Hero: David Kav’s Look Into My Eyes an Affecting Rock Ride
August 3, 2007.

Artist: David Kav
Album: Look Into My Eyes.

“Trying to be one in a million” may be the opening lyric to the title track of David Kav's assured debut album Look Into My Eyes—an impassioned, ten song collection of melodic guitar folk rock full of catchy riffs and muscular, driving vocals—but to that ambitious end, the talented young singer-songwriter is distinguishing himself quite nicely.

Kav describes his sound as a "male Indigo Girls with a dash of Morrissey," and he's pretty close to the mark on both counts with an impressively versatile guitar (acoustic and plugged) and an endearing vocal sensitivity recalling the edginess of early Rob Thomas, circa Tabitha's Secret. For a young musician, Kav displays a remarkable confidence and authority on guitar and in full voice, alternately restrained and convicted, unafraid of big emotions. As for Morrissey, he's certainly got a melancholy that seems all his own, spiked with an occasional dose of self-aware irony ("I am a messiah for only 10 minutes more”).

Yet Kav is distinctly himself here. From the catchy title tune to the soaring vocals of These Neon Lights, from the contemplative, guitar instrumental An Angel’s Dance to the scaled-down, harmonica hymn open to “I’m Still Falling,” and topped off with a rousing live cover of The Box Tops’ 60s classic “The Letter,” Look Into My Eyes plays like a great, one-too-many, bleary-eyed, soul search album for anyone who might have lost the girl somewhere along the way but has yet to find himself.

The best thing about David Kav’s affecting Look Into My Eyes is the promise of what is yet to come (his second album is in the works). In an American pop music world of increasingly vapid posers and American Idol castoffs, Kav’s personal portrait of the artist as a very talented young man is the perfect antidote, a truth serum for listeners looking for that one in a million: a young singer-songwriter putting the focus back where it belongs—lyrics, heart and some damn good guitar. -LCS.Chicago

Earnest in the best way possible
Where many singer-songwriters come across as pretentious, "Look Into My Eyes" rises above and feels quite genuine. Listening to the CD you are transported to an intimate performance where you're the only one in the audience. The songs are restrained without compromising any emotion and my personal faves so far are "These Neon Lights" and "I'm Still Falling."

Much to be said between the lines.
I am glad I already own this CD! I'm putting it in right now to listen to the whole thing, not just 2 min of each. When you can hear someone's heart, that is beautiful. Very touching, inspiring, and some of it makes me get up and want to dance! In fact I think that's a good idea...
