ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A collection of songs written and composed by blind singer, songwriter, keyboardist and artist, David Kontra.

This album, which was recorded in digital and analogue formats in three different studios, reveals total diversity from the haunting anthem “Edgar”, to the mellow and melodic “Oh Mother”, to rockers such as “Get Together with Me” and “Tuesday Talk to Me”.

Thanks to all the fellow musicians and other contributors who made these recordings possible:

Edgar, Mourning Dove, Tuesday Talk to Me - Recorded at Prime Time studios, Akron, Ohio. Bass: Scott Horstman, Drums: Mark Miskar, Vocals and Keyboards: David Kontra, evil laughter and screeching spirit on “Edgar”: Scott Horstman.

Oh Mother, April Fools, Get Together with Me - Recorded in basement studio, Medina, Ohio. Guitar: Joe Smith, Bill Smucker, Vocals and Keyboards: David Kontra, Piano on Oh Mother: thanks to Jim, (who joined in while on break from his regular job as a piano player on a cruise ship). Also thanks to the other unknown musicians and the unknown girl with her poetic words at the end of “Get Together with Me”.

Brick Buildings, Eagles Fly Free, Darkness After the Fall, The Giant of Lark, Solidify - Recorded in a barn studio in Medina Ohio with 0 degree temperatures outside. Guitar: Joe Smith, Drum Programming: Kristin Sunday, Vocals and Keyboards: David Kontra.

“tell me, is my father the sun?”
A melodic song about Mother Nature and the molecular connection between life and the Cosmos.

Using children’s tales to reveal the social problems hiding beneath the surface.

4. Mourning Dove
A warning of how an apathetic and ignorant culture can allow deceitful leaders to foil the future prosperity and freedom of the people.

5. Tuesday Talk to Me
A song about my love.

6. April Fools
The human race can only improve itself through education.

7. Get Together with Me
A fun rocker.

8. Eagles Fly Free
A tale of an earth man who falls in love with an alien girl.

9. Darkness After the Fall
My personal description of fighting blindness.

10. The Giant of Lark
A tale of how one understanding person can bring others to realize that they can put an end to bigotry.

11. Solidify
“Science is the cure for the human race, so that we may endure a much brighter fate.”
