Album Notes
Do you like traditional country music? If so this is the music you've been looking for. The CD "If I Could Change The World" is real country. Only one cover tune on this album "Borrowed Angel" which was originally written and recorded by the late great Mel Street. Mel was born October 21st 1935 he recorded Borrowed Angel on October 21st 1970 and tragically took his own life on October 21st 1978. David Paul Nowlin was born October 21st 1960 and recorded Borrowed Angel on October 21st 2011 and Mel's steel guitar player Mike Johnson is playing steel on this new recording. The rest of the songs were written by David Paul Nowlin and are all about real life experiences. The album was produced by grammy nominated producer Greg Cole and has some of the best musicians in Nashville. Mike Johnson on steel,Danny Parks on guitars,James Mitchell on Guitars,Joe Caverlee and Larry Franklin on fiddles,Danny Davis on bass,Seth Taylor on banjo, and Greg Cole plays piano bass and drums and does harmony vocals. Track 14 Lemonade Louie is a song about a homeless man from Nashville this track was recorded at Smokehouse Studios by Greg Martin and has Bobby Bristol playing bass and dobro. Track 9 "Riderless Horse" is a song about David's uncle Kelly Gentry and features David's nephew Marty McDonald playing a 1952 Les Paul guitar that belonged to David's dad. AND the title song "If I Could Change The World" was inspired by Dawn Sears and Marcia Campbell when they asked "what would you do if you could change the world?" And features Marcia Campbell and Billy Thomas doing background vocals. You will not regret buying this album.
