ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"GRIEFCASE" is my third album of original songs.
It was a rough few years that preceded the making of this record.  My family had been devastated by death. Around the world brutal dictators were on the rise causing great human suffering. The digital age had reached puberty and could not be controlled. And then ABC cancelled "The Chew".I had a list of songs I had been working  on for years. It is always a big undertaking for me to make a record.  A lot of songs fell by the wayside.  BUT... these twelve songs were expertly produced with two incredibly talented friends who gave me their best work. We had terrific guest stars who performed brilliantly.
I played guitars and piano and I sang all twelve tunes including a duet with my daughter Oona Roche. Singing harmonies with Oona is one of the highlights of living my life.  Longtime bandmate David Kumin co-produced and played BASS, B3, guitars and keys and did a ton of the mixing.  Grammy winning producer Stewart Lerman co-produced the project at his private recording facility in NJ.  Renowned drummer and old pal Brian Dunne played drums and we had a guest appearance on a few tracks from the incomparable David Mansfield who gave us wonderful fiddle and dobro. It's crazy how good it sounds. My ever lovin' wife Mary Mullally co-wrote two of the songs. It been a slice of heaven to make this album.  Stewart has made some of my favorite records and I'm grateful that he made room in his world do an album with me.  David Kumin labored relentlessly to get this album right and is a goldmine of talent and a great musician.
I hope everybody gets to hear it.
