Album Notes
James Taylor meets Jerry Seinfeld? Award-winning singer and songwriter David Roth presents his unique original music, replete with hilarity, poignancy, spontaneity, and inspiration. David's resume includes top honors at two of the country's premier songwriter festivals - Kerrville (TX) and Falcon Ridge (NY) - chosen both times from nationwide fields of several hundred artists. With 9 recordings, a 1994 NAIRD Indie nomination (singer/songwriter Album of the Year), lyrics in several Chicken Soup for the Soul books, two national anthems for the NBA's MIchael Jordan-era Chicago Bulls, and appearances at concert halls, conferences, trainings and retreats throughout North America, David's "heavy-mental" music strikes many chords, hearts, and minds.

"David has reached our hearts. With voices like his still singing, there's a certainty that the candle will remain lit, the hope reasserted and the dream still sung..."
Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul & Mary)

"David writes and sings songs with a devastating combination of heartfelt wisdom and incisive wit. In my eyes he sets a new "contemporary singer/songwriter" standard for the rest of us to aspire to, and it's a standard that is very, very high..."
Christine Lavin

"I have hundreds and hundreds of recording by singer/songwriters, and in my opinion, David is the greatest out there today. Strong words, but easily backed up. All you have to do is listen."
Lucky Clark, Music in Review, ME

In addition to singing "Earth" at the 40th Anniversary of the United Nations in New York, David's "Rising in Love" was performed at the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall. "Manuel Garcia" and "Nine Gold Medals" (songs based on the true stories) both appear in Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and "May the Light of Love" in the classic folk song book Rise Up Singing. Music fans may have also heard Noel Paul Stookey singing David's "Spacesuits" on the 1999/2000 Peter, Paul, & Mary tours.

"David's pure, voice, unsurpassed instrumental ability, incredible humor, and heart-piercing, intelligent lyrics brought a feeling into our concert hall that can't be described - except perhaps by the word "harmony". It was as if folk, New Age, comedy club, coffee house, and a bit of heaven had all come together for one evening."
James van Pelt New Haven Folk Alliance

"We met an amazing singer-songwriter on the road recently, by the name of David Roth. We're pretty new to the whole "folk" phenomenon, and we sometimes don't feel comfortable with acoustic guitars and nothing else...but David takes the "nice guy singing and strumming" concept and turns it upside down: he's AMAZING."

Everything I thought it would be.
John Denver, Arlo Guthrie, Dylan, James Taylor all rolled into one. This one's a winner. Folk music's best kept secret. Some of the songs would be bigtime hits with a studio band and some sound engineering.

2 discs overflowing with music, humor and heart
A great holiday or house-warming gift: Not one but two discs brim-full of lovingly crafted, thoughtful, funny and heartfelt tunes. A rare double find: wit minus bitterness; tenderness minus sap--and not a false note in twenty-eight tracks of listening pleasure. David Roth's music and humor call down flocks of what Lincoln called 'our better angels'--enjoy!

Fantastic, great music and great lyrics
This is a great buy and some of the best music I've listened to in recent years. David is an awesome musician, and has a neat personality. One of my favorite songs on this CD is "The 7 Wonders of the World." It's a bit jazzy, sweet, and actually a great teaching lesson. This man has a talent you don't want to miss.
