Album Notes
Gifted British singer/songwriter David Saw’s second full-length album and US debut, Broken Down Figure is scheduled for release March 2008 on Ben Taylor’s Iris Records. The expressive and poignant album tells of love lost and love never received, broken hearts and rescued hearts - touching pieces with which listeners can’t help but to identify. Beautifully arranged melodies, captivating vocals, exceptional musicianship and honest lyrics combine to lift Saw to a heightened status in the singer/songwriter realm.

Saw’s engaging charm and appealing style are obvious in his songs, just as it would be if you had met him on the street. The fan favorite, “Savannah’s World,” with gentle vocals and sincere words, tells of Saw’s response to a young girl’s real life MySpace crush. The emotion stirring, “Don’t Call,” with its simple yet impressive acoustic guitar, connects to the listener by touching on a familiar scenario brought on by the loss of a love. “Buy My Record,” the album’s first single, is a bit of a departure from the softer material, bringing a fun, upbeat energy to the album, with drunken piano tones and upright bass lines that listeners of any genre will love.

Adding to Saw’s recent accomplishments, two of his songs have been recorded by the illustrious Carly Simon and are featured on her critically acclaimed 2007 album, Into White. Chosen by Simon were “Quiet Evening,” written by Saw at the age of 16 and “I’ll Just Remember You,” co-written by Saw with Ben Taylor, son of Simon and the legendary James Taylor.

Following a stint playing in a variety of different bands throughout England, Saw went out on his own and released a solo UK debut titled, A Different Story, in 2003. The album’s success allowed him the pleasure of touring with the likes of Ray Davies, Pattie Griffin and acoustic blues singer/songwriter Eric Bibb. In addition, he has played with Carly Simon, Ben Taylor, Robert Cray, Paul Carrack (formerly of Squeeze and Mike and the Mechanics) and Chris Difford (formerly of Squeeze). Saw has also performed at Glastonbury, the largest annual greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world.

With his melodic guitar style, candid and catchy song writing, and shy English humor, David Saw is undeniably one to watch in 2008. Broken Down Figure hits stores March 2008. For more information, visit www.davidsawmusic.com or check out http://www.myspace.com/davidsaw .
