AWESOME album -- NOT just for guitar players
This is an AWESOME album of high-energy bluesy rock! David Spann is obviously an incredible guitarist, but I like best about this album are the SONGS. David's soulful vocals and lyrics are complemented by sometimes aggressive, sometimes jazzy chord progressions, and a nice variety of grooves. Granted there is no shortage of incredible guitar tones and mind-bending solos, but they always fit within the songs tastefully. I would compare the arrangements to Stevie Ray, except David's blues are blended with modern / hard rock sounds. I also love the live feel of the band, and the rhythm section is great throughout.
