Album Notes
David Stanley released his first CD "Finding My Way" in 2005. Influenced by the late 60's-early 70's singer-songwriters like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Laura Nyro, Judee Sill, etc. and the powerpop of Beatles/Big Star, David entered the studio and set about putting his songs on record.

David says, " One of my good friends Producer/Guitarist Clint Newcom arranged for me to record in Roy Orbisons Original Studio on Historic Music Row in Nashville. So many artists have passed thru those doors, I felt lucky to be among them. I have been going back and forth over the years between Los Angeles and Nashville and consider both cities home. Along the way I have been able to play and write with some great musicians, many of whom took part in creating this album, I hope you will enjoy their work as much as I do."

Listen close enough on songs such as "Brand New Beat", "All I Have",
and "Last Goodbye" and you'll hear that Nashville/West Coast Country
Rock Hybrid made popular by the Byrds, CSN, Gram Parsons, The Band, etc.

David says, "I love that style of music and its such a part of who I am because of the years spent in Nashville working on the craft of songwriting, and the years spent traveling up and down the west coast."

"I hope you enjoy "Finding My way" as much as I enjoyed making it"

Another disc I enjoyed last year was David Stanley's Finding My Way. Stanley falls more into the singer-songwriter category, but he can put some power into his pop as well. At times he reminds me of Neil Finn ("The Kissing Tree", "Sad Girl"), but on others I hear some Michael Carpenter ("Brand New Beat", "Counting The Days"). There really isn't a bad track on this album, although it's a bit on the short side (8 tracks plus a "radio edit" of "The Kissing Tree"). I suppose it's a case of quality over quantity.
