ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Like many singer-songwriters from the late 1960s an early 70s, Uncle Barnaby set aside his musical aspirations to earn a living and raise a family. But his songwriting efforts never ceased. His writing spans a period from the early 1960s, prior to and during his service in Vietnam, and continues today.

After a brief stint in the military, the band, Uncle Barnaby, was formed and became part of the Chicago folk scene that spawned the likes of Steve Goodman, John Prine, and others. Now, more than four decades later, David Stumph carries on the name and music of Uncle Barnaby. Stumph stays in contact with band members and continues to write with band mate and fellow Vietnam veteran, Rich Raitano.

Having recently retired from a successful career in business, Uncle Barnaby is enjoying a return to his first love, music! With music never far from reach, Stumph’s son, Patrick, picked up where Uncle Barnaby left off to become the voice of the band Fall Out Boy.

The EP, titled after the track, On My Way Home, chronicles life and love, the horrors of war, and touches on the demise of human decency seen in today’s politics. Often referred to as “the storyteller,” Uncle Barnaby delivers a style of music that can only be called... Folk with Soul.
