Album Notes

A Chicago native, David migrated to L.A. to pursue a music career. Since arriving, he’s achieved more in just a few short years than most artists achieve in a lifetime, including; winning multiple songwriting awards, placing music on network television shows (CBS’ “Cold Case” and WB’s “High School Reunion”), being named one of Music Connection Magazine’s “Hottest Unsigned Artists” three years in a row and voted “Best Of Fest” at the 2007 Temecula Int’l Film & Music Festival. At a show-stopping Dec. 2006 performance in Los Angeles, New Land Music was so impressed; they immediately signed him to a recording deal.

The album titled “Beautiful Mess” was recorded from Mach through July 2007. Produced by Steven Miller (Dave Matthews Band, Brandi Carlisle, Jack Johnson) and co-produced by David Thiele, some of the best musicians in the business contributed their talents to the project, including Steve Ferrone-drums (Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, etc.), Tim Pierce-guitar (Bruce Springsteen, Goo Goo Dolls, Christina Aguilera), Jeff Young-keys (Steely Dan, Sting, Bonnie Raitt), John Pierce-bass (Huey Lewis & The News, Don Henley, Toto) and Dorian Crozier-drums (Mandy Moore, Five for Fighting, Pink) – the best of the best!

David is setting up for a whirlwind of promotional activities and gives you a sneak peak of his whereabouts via his videoblogs on his MySpace site. With a refreshing style all his own, David Thiele’s “Beautiful Mess” on the New Land Music label will be one of the breakthrough records of 2008, and the start of an amazing career for this super talent! Look for "Beautiful Mess" on iTunes and CD Baby now!

A real artist
In an industry packed with great singers who can't write and are hopelessly depending on songwriters to sustain them, David Thiele is definitely an exception. He wrote these songs. Wait, let me repeat that... HE WROTE THESE SONGS. After fully realizing that, What can I say, I was astounded by his talent and creativity on this album. "Beautiful Mess" is a prized "Greatest Hits" type of collection. His raw talent and freedom to virtually go anywhere in the musical sphere is evident as each song passes. The humorous sarcasm of "LA" and the sweet summer-sounding "She"... I was captured by his graceful tunes. It was only the beginning... each song took me somewhere new, a different place altogether. Oh, and "Ravenous" speaks for itself with those gripping frustrations of wanting something to the point of explosion.

I'd recommend to anybody to step back and take this album in whole, not merely song-by-song. It's really is an amazing collection that when played in a group, will likely draw the question of, "Wait, who is this?" The answer is, David Thiele. Yea, he's that good and yes, he's a true artist and musician. He's everything.
