Album Notes
With both musicians being able to hold their own melody, bass line, percussion, and accompaniment through the use of their own acoustic instrument and no electronic devices; the guitar and saxophone duo collaborates with their unconventional techniques to create their epic emotionally driven acoustic jam music known as Jazzgrass.

Saxophonist, Derek Brown, has performed with Jazz greats including Jeff Coffin, Christian McBride, Jeff Tain Watts, Arturo Sandoval, Terry Lyne Carrington, Fred Hersch, John Fedchock, Marvin Stamm, and Fred Sturm. Along with being the Director of Jazz Studies at Abilene Christian University, Derek continues to push the limits of what can be done on the saxophone include developing the use of slap tonguing, creating snare sounds, and using other techniques to fill in needed voices in a limited musical environment.

Winner of numerous awards most recently including taking first at the 2015 International Fingerstyle Guitar Festival, David Youngman brings modern guitar techniques to the duo including fretboard tapping and drumming on the guitar. With a performance degree, over 15 years of performing professionally, and two awards for Instrumentalist of the Year at Spring Arbor University; David brings his training in various styles such as Jazz, Classical, and Bluegrass together in the Duo Project album.
