ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Turquoise & Silver may be closer to my truth as a songwriter/artist/whatever than any recording I've done thus far. I came to Nashville in 1993 to follow the path of my heroes - Willie, Hank, Kris, and this work is my tribute to them and the Great Progressive Country Music Scare of my youth. Turquoise & Silver is homage to those concept records of the time, like Phases and Stages and Honky Tonk Heroes—weighty, literate explorations of Country Music, the medium closest to my heart.

It is also a celebration of the small circle of people involved in the making of this record— Pamela Jackson, Mark MacKenzie, and David Conrad, aka The Band of A Thousand Names, who selflessly did everything, from the writing and playing of all the songs, to completely mixing the tracks, even to package design itself - a group of world-class talents and humans, along with our producer and my long-time mentor, Tricia Walker, who has steadily guided me along throughout my charmed musical journey.

It's a big ol' honkin' record that we hope to be a favorite with all the Friends and Neighbors and fans of authentic American music.
