Album Notes
Born in Hollywood, CA in 1961, Davol moved to Colorado as a young boy. With primarily classical piano training, he developed an interest in electronic music as a teenager. High school and college years exposed him to jazz and classical harpsichord. Since the acquisition of a micro Moog synthesizer as a boy, he had an undying passion for electronic music and was addicted to the music of Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream.

His first compositions became the collection of pieces on the Mystic Waters album. In 1988, Davol produced a short demo tape as a present for some friends. They passed it on to the president of Silver Wave Records, an independent record label in Boulder, Colorado. A recording contract was soon arranged and Mystic Waters made it to #15 on the Billboard New Age Chart, and remained on the charts for 25 weeks. The music from his albums has been used worldwide in TV, radio, video and multimedia productions.

Interestingly, Davol's career was originally in microbiology, not music. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1989, and worked as a medical researcher until 1996 when he started a commercial venture, producing music for multimedia. This experience allowed him to write music in very diverse styles, and work with other instrumentalists.

A vegetarian, French language enthusiast, and public health educator, he remains devoted to a number of different life passions, electronic music composition being chief among them.

Excellent work!
The first I have heard Davol was actually on music choice. The piece that I heard was "A Star Shines." After reviewing his muic here on CDBABY, I was very inspired! More over, this music is brilliantly interwoven with suttle and melodic colors that are very attractive to the ears and quenching a thirst for music that is fresh and brand new. Excellent work Davol! Keep up the great and uplifiting music!

An excellent album for media production.
This album is perfect for anyone in the media (radio, TV, Internet, etc.) that is looking for a nice upbeat tempo, with a slight tinge of digital futurism. I host a radio news program, and Davol's "A Day Like No other" was a perfect fit for me. Not only that, I've found uses for it in other types of production. And it even stands well on its own for just plain listening at home or work. A great album overall!

This album is a musical masterpiece
Absolutely fantastic melodic quality of this incredible work of the author. The valuation of time between the notes is a feature of this album. Pure talent.

Davol Is An Ambient And Electronic Wizard !
Davol intermittently releases CD's but they are always brilliant and celestial. This highly-educated musical wizard is an impeccable perfectionist. If you enjoy the ORB, Edgar Froese and Tangerine Dream, then it is imperative to embrace Davol. His instrumentals are mellow, somber, uplifting, mystifying and ultimately mesmerizing !
In addition to be very cerebral, Davol is also a longstanding compassionate vegetarian.

Jim Messina

Davol does it again, his best.
Refreshing, scintillating, uplifting. This album is familiar Davol, similar to his others only richer in texture, more fascinating, intricately woven into a tapesty that consumes your emotions with joy. As with a good dream you don't want to end, you'll find yourself listening over and over again especially "Lucky Day" and "Ride". Go for it.

AWESOME! DAVOL is back in Perfect Form!
I've loved DAVOL's music for years and each time he comes out with a new CD it's better than the ones before. He's reinvented himself yet again. AWESOME! A "must" for DAVOLOHOLICS! (like me!)...

Uplifting and energizing
I do a lot of writing, and have trouble finding music that keeps me uplifted without wearing me out. I find Davol's A Day Like No Other to be perfect for that. I also listen to his earlier works, and this latest is just as great as any of them.

top-class electronic music
davol has once again produced a top-class synth album of mid-length irresistable instrumentals. the brilliant sounds davol creates was the first thing that caught my attention when i first heard mystic waters many years ago and continues to this day. it is a shame we have to wait so long between albums but quality cant be hurried. class.

Uplifting, beautiful music that is easy listening pleasure. Soothing, but distinctive.
