Album Notes
"Thanks for the CD which truly brightened my trip into NYC yesterday. And what a classy album to have multiple songs on."
-David Shire

This album was born of my solo cabaret by the same name which debuted in May 2009 at Davenport's Cabaret in Chicago. Each song resonates with a particular, pivitol moment in my life and will evermore hold a special place in my heart. As a teenager, when I had my first taste of musical theatre, I was hooked! No one strikes an emotional chord like the great composers and lyricists of Broadway. Through their songs, as a singer, wife and mother, I am able to tell my sometimes funny, sometimes emotional, always human story.

An eminently listenable debut!
Having admired Ms. Harkins' confident cabaret debut, I was eager to hear the resulting recording. She is a fan of Broadway musical literature with tastes much like my own. Her strong soprano rings clear on emotional, melodic ballads as well as amusing novelty songs. Here she celebrates all the colors of her voice--classical, jazz and pop. Pianist/musical director Evan Rea's work is masterful. Theirs is a thoughtful, balanced collaboration.
