Album Notes
“...and a Happy New Year captures the festivus for the rest of us spirit in a most rockin’ holiday album! It’s the soundtrack to truly celebrating the whole season no matter what it means to you!” - Mindy Thomas, Program Director, Sirius/XM’s Kids Place Live

Award winning children’s recording artists Danny Adlerman, Kevin Kammeraad, and Yosi, have joined efforts to create what is sure to be the most innovative winter holiday album this year.

Danny, Kevin, and Yosi have been inspiring kids and families for over a decade through both music and books. Through their friendship an idea was born to create a CD that captures both winter holiday originals and inventive remakes of traditional favorites. The humor, love, joy, and excitement of the season shine through in this exceptional, all ages family CD!

The artists:

Danny Adlerman has been making music and books for kids for as long as he can remember. He’s a fun and playful sort, and is excited to be inspiring kids towards literacy and great music. The only thing more important to Danny than making books and music are his sweet wife and collaborator author-illustrator Kim Adlerman, and their three children. Danny’s award winning music includes One Size Fits All and Listen UP!

“With a gentle sense of humor and playfulness, Listen UP! will be popular with many families looking for an album of kid-appropriate rock-n-roll.” -

Kevin Kammeraad has been a children’s author, illustrator, and performer/musician for over ten years. He brings his passion of creative thinking, writing, art, and music each year to hundreds of elementary schools, libraries, festivals, bookstores, and conferences all over the country. Kevin is the creator of The Tomato Collection and co-creator of many books and CDs. He loves to explore new possibilities and get kids excited about their imagination. Cookie Magazine summarizes Kevin’s CD A Curious Glimpse of Michigan as “Silly? Sure. Great music? Definitely. Rating: 3 out of 3 (a surefire hit).”

For many years Yosi has been performing both original and traditional songs at concert stages throughout the Northeast and beyond. From schools and library events to festivals, Yosi’s shows are whimsical and imaginative, featuring an enthusiasm that is both magical and infectious. Yosi has four multi-award-winning CDs and his music can be heard nationally on WXPN - Kids Corner, and Sirius and XM Satellite Radios.

Winter Fun!
It doesn’t matter what your faith is as the winter holidays always inspire love for friends and family. This album kicks things off with the inspirational “Starlight” and then continues to inspire and amuse as it progresses. Sure, there are great covers here but it’s the originals that’ll make you want to buy the album. Check out “She Just Doesn’t Get It” for a hook-filled humorous slice of family life. Still not sure whether to purchase the album? Play the wacky cover of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” for any kid and see what happens…

I *LOVE* this album
"She Just Doesn't Get It" and "A Pickle for my Christmas Tree" are catchy, brilliant, and hysterical. (I am particularly enamored of the asides in Pickle..."Why? I don't know why?".)

I also am partial to the Tom Lehrer remake of Santa Monica, but even if you don't know some of the classics they cover, this album is more than worth the price for the original material.

If I could replace the holiday music in stores, over the radio, on the street, etc. with nothing but this album for the month of December I would be a very very happy man.

Try the previews for "A Pickle for my Christmas Tree" and "She Just Doesn't Get It" and I guarantee your next click will be on the "Buy Now" button.

A Holiday CD for the entire family
It’s a veritable cliché to extol the virtues of a children’s album by declaring that it will appeal to parents no less than their kids. Nevertheless, such a declaration most definitely applies to the new holiday CD, “…and a Happy New Year.” Danny Adlerman, Kevin Kammeraad, and Yosi, acclaimed children’s artists on their own, have combined forces for a mix of original and traditional Holiday songs that are pure pop-rock fun. Humor and great melodies abound, with terrific and inventive re-workings of such chestnuts as “Frosty the Snowman” and “Deck the Halls,” while originals and less-exposed songs like CD-opener “Starlight,” “I Have a Little Dreidle” and “Christmas on the Block” - with an organ riff reminiscent of ‘60’s Dylan, provides noteworthy evidence of serious musicianship. Indeed, this 13-song collection probably won’t compete with traditional holiday albums because it is so original and completely endearing. A CD young children will certainly laugh and sing-along with, “…and a Happy New Year” will more than satisfy parents as well.
