“Daysahead revives the spirit of the golden era of the 70's & 80's…an air-tight band and a bewitching front woman.” (Michael Heyliger, RhythmFlow)

International indie artists Daysahead are in the final production stages of their sophomore studio CD. Daysahead’s adult contemporary musical style, self-coined as “Jazz-n-Roll: a jazz approach to rock and soul”, has rocked both US coasts, Africa, British Territories, and Europe. A cross-genre appeal, their music combines r&b, rock, jazz, soul, funk, acoustic, folk, singer-songwriter, and world music into an ear-grabbing and pulse-moving trippy euphoria. Strong socially-conscious lyrics that make you groove. That’s the Daysahead sound!

Daysahead was founded by husband and wife duo guitarist/producer/songwriter Steve Wright (Richmond, VA) & vocalist/lyricist/songwriter Kim Wright (Baton Rouge, LA) in 2003. Steve & Kim’s unique approach to songwriting, arranging, and powerful performances has attracted a diverse and loyal following of fans from around the world.

Daysahead’s fans refer to them as “THE REAL DEAL!”, as they have their own distinct sound with Steve & Kim playing energetically and musically off one another. Melodic and euphoric guitar is their musical centerpiece with powerful smoky-vocals on top, and both Steve & Kim have the gripping ability to go from soul to rock to gospel to jazz to acoustic and world-infused in a seconds notice. From acoustic sets to electric….Daysahead's music has been likened to the range and energetic performances of Mother’s Finest, The Brand New Heavies, and they’ve been dubbed as an “electrified Tuck & Patti reincarnated”!

Daysahead has co-billed with some of the best in the business including Chaka Khan, Al Green, Al Jarreau, Gnarls Barkley, The Brand New Heavies, Rachelle Ferrell, Patti Austin, George Duke, Fertile Ground, Ledisi, Mike Phillips, Roy Ayers, Gerald Albright, Fourplay, Lalah Hathaway, Maysa Leak and many more.

“Kim's impressive command of that indefinable voice that goes from gospel to soul to jazz and to rock in a seconds notice, and the dexterity, texture, and imagination of Steve's guitar playing…such chemistry.” (Brian Lush, RockWired)

“Daysahead’s own blend of soul, funk and rock is a welcome breath of fresh air.” (Dirk Binsau, Jazz-not-Jazz)

“Daysahead revives the spirit of the golden era of bands from the 70's & 80's criss-crossing jazz, funk and rock into a sound that's both contemporary and timeless….an air-tight band and a bewitching front woman.” (Michael Heyliger, RhythmFlow)

“The compelling voice of Kim Wright and energetic artistry of guitarist Steve Wright…is a perfect marriage artistically with lyrical substance that “rocks” embroidered with the fabric of jazz, soul and occasional Latin influences…“Tuck & Patti” reincarnated in a quartet setting.” (Rob Young, Contemporary Jazz)

“Daysahead’s retro jazz-funk grooves remind you of The Brand New Heavies, with strong and trippy vocals, hot rockin' guitar, heavy rolling b-line, and divine breaks.” (Alfie da Funkjunky, Funkjunkiez Magazine)

“Daysahead is an original group bursting with its own distinct style…Using Steve’s electric guitar as the musical centerpiece and Kim, a wonderful smoky-voiced singer.” (Chris Rizik, SoulTracks)

“Daysahead explodes with raw detailed vigor and style you rarely hear in music these days.  Steve Wright’s guitar licks thrust forward defining his purpose as a soloist therefore, his voice merges seamlessly complimenting the talented vocalesse of Kim Wright.” (Rob Young, Contemporary Jazz)
