Album Notes
DB Martin came from a very musical family. Not that there was a house full of musicians, but with a family of 8 the musical tastes were all over the board and music appreciation was above average, and because he was the youngest, DB had a listen to a little bit of everything. Having always displayed some sort of musical talent since childhood, vocally and on the drums, DB has memories as far back as a young boy, singing well enough to records to make others take notice, and playing drums as a teen very well very quickly. However, from 1997 to the present is a bit of a surprise to DB. He discovered within him a latent talent for the piano. And he would further discover his own unique musical ability and style. During this process DB would find his voice, pen the lyrics and compose the music to a large battery of songs that always seem to invoke an emotional & appreciative response from listeners. Now, having formed the DB Martin Group, manages to release the debut CD , "Miracle Man."

Layers of luxurious sound shaped and sharpened by the incredible contribution of bass and guitar by Co-producer, engineer, Jason James, Guitarists Ari Koinuma lends his extraordinary talent to "Touch the Sky" and "Wish Upon a Star" while Jimmy Joe Natoli brings his brand of guitar playing to "After You're Gone" and "My Home Now." Along with the soulful sax of Paul Klemperer combined with the seemingly perfect melding of yesterday and today in DB's compositions, it all comes together to form the musical soundscapes created on Miracle Man. DB performs the drums on the studio tracks, while Austin drummer, Joe Zamecki, has taken up the throne, providing the beat live. From beginning to end, this CD is to say the least, compelling.

People have said this music sounds a little like Santana, a little like Michael McDonald, a little like Pink Floyd and whole lot like DB. DB's musical teeth were cut nestled between Chicago and Detroit heavily influenced by old school R&B and rock in its very formative years with a heavy dose of the Beatles thrown in there. "I've always loved big music", says DB. "Who doesn't like love songs?". DB recorded and co-produced this CD with Jason James at Spin Studios Austin, a now defunct home studio owned by James. Together over the past 18 months, they have put together a very enjoyable debut CD of 12 songs that are being incredibly well received by listeners all over the world. The live show just has to be seen. These are serious musicians who have created an undeniable sound. Some of the most incredible music to come to life in Austin, Tx.

Stan Ridgway of Wall of Voodoo fame had this to say when he came upon DB's MySpace page "WOW BABE! What a site! Great Music!" Veteran songwriter, Don Kirkpatrick, who has worked along side such legends as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra and is co-credited with composing the theme music for the movie, Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf calls DB the "real thing". Listen to the Music.

Mello and Moving, Jammin' and slammin'
I must say that I've never considered myself the Adult Contemporary type, but I've been nothing but moved by this CD. If I could now only get out to Austin to see him live...that would be MY miracle!!! Keep up the great work that you do my friend.

A Soul Man Revs up his Music !
When I lived in Austin I used to go see the DB Martin Group. The songs were soulful, the performance was inspiring and the delivery was powerful. With the debut of the CD Miracle Man, DB has added some punch to the songs he has been performing and has added some wonderful new material. Won't Worry Anymore has always been a favorite and this version comes with performances by some new DB Martin Group players and you can tell these guys have worked on these songs. Miracle Man is a reminder that we should not create our idols just to destroy them and DB sends this message loud and clear in his powerful vocal. The fun ending of Miracle Man is reminiscent of fun Beatles endings such as on Hello Goodbye and Hey Jude. This CD is worth checking out and when you do, CRANK IT UP !
