Album Notes
Music created for the development of the most precious resource: YOUR SOUL!
1.Positive Flow- Everything good starts with a positive attitude, so the album starts out with positive flow, to cleanse your mood and get you in the right frame of mind.
2.Let's start all over again- This next song tells you how to get back together with your beloved; If it is possible, this song will help you do it. A soul cover sung by the great Lou Rawls, and now David Byrd offers this fine version.
3.Ancestral Dance- People from all over the planet said they can relate to this song. We all have much more in common than we think.
4.Seeking perfection- In every song they write, they are seeking perfection. This song is about trying to reach that perfection. We may come up short, but the journey is beautiful.
5.Iridescent Eyes- This song is about the sweet lover with the irridescent eyes. Especially the third one! Pamela Fernandez luminous voice is a thing of beauty.
6. Sherry- is a blues warhorse by Hank Crawford that Eddie Jefferson put lyrics to. This version rips through it with glee.
7.Soul Development Title track is for the developement of that magic substance called the soul. Check out the exquisite voice of squeaky, with Byrd on this and the final track. Her gospel roots are on display.
8. Filthy McNasty- Horace silver wrote the melody, and Eddie Jefferson wrote the words. Byrd's voice shines on this bebop standard. Why does filthy mcnasty get all the chicks? Only the rythyhm knows for sure!
9. Scram-This song is a warning for all vampires to scram.
10 .Insight- Some Chicago funky stuff .
11.Sweet Perfection- Reaching for the sweet perfection of a wicked dub.
12. Reprise of the title track. Check out the amazing guitar work of the one and only Daryl Thompson, and the pretty vocals .
engineers were Ron White and Sam Boumoujahed
Recorded at Chicago Trax and Supersound studios
Original artwork by Karen Cooper
Extra thanks goes out to Darryl Thompson for all the extra stuff he did to make this a success.
The only thing you can take with you from this earth is the developement of your soul!
