ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
D Cinn brings you his newest mixtape "Tha Promotion 2: Grind Mode". It is hosted by DJ Lil One of the Ripp Squad DJ's a features 20 brand new songs.

Memphis, Tennessee, the home of crunk and buck music, is a music city that has yet to be completely discovered by the mainstream. At the age of 19, D Cinn plans to help uplift the city of Memphis from the underground into the national spotlight it deserves.

Born Christopher Brown, in Memphis, TN, to a married couple, he was the first of two children. At age two, his mother and father got a divorce because of his father’s heavy drug abuse, leaving his mother to raise two children single handedly. Living the majority of his life without a father, D Cinn was forced mature at a young age, realizing the rights and wrongs in life.

Not having the ability to shoot hoops or play catch with his father, D Cinn took up music because it brought feelings that took the place of his father’s absence. At the age of nine, he and his cousin wrote and recorded songs in his uncle’s home studio. His uncle was a keyboardist who was heavily involved with music. He performed numerous gigs at local and surrounding venues throughout Tennessee as well as the southeast.

Throughout his middle and high school stints, D Cinn enjoyed rapping in front of fellow students as class projects. He was known as the “quiet kid”, so hearing him rap was astonishing to his peers. At age 16, he began to take rap music seriously. It wasn’t just a hobby anymore. He released a few mini mixtapes and passed it around to all of his high school friends. People began to consider him as a youngster with potential.

At age 18, D Cinn released his first “pressed” mixtape, Da M-Town Project, with his group South Squad. The group pushed over 1000 copies of the mixtape locally. The group performed countless shows at venues such as the Issac Hayes Night Club, Wing City, Rone’s Place, and a few high schools.

A few months later, D Cinn released his solo mixtape, “Tha Promotion: Da Memphis Way”. He hooked up with a local DJ for this project. He put his all into this mixtape. Instead of the usual dope and gun talk used by most artists, D Cinn brought truthful content and lyricism. He even went and got high quality artwork and his CD’s professionally pressed as if it were a major label release. He knew other local artists weren’t doing it this way. He pushed over 5,000 copies of “Tha Promotion”. It helped him attain a quick buzz which is still elevating. Many local artists have contacted him for verses, shows and projects. People have said that they love his captivating voice, delivery/charisma and his laid back swagger. People have noticed D Cinn’s buzz and have contacted him to perform at large venues such as Pressure World and the New Daisy Theater. He is always in the studio recording new material for future mixtapes and his debut album, It’s Real Round Here.

Despite the numerous calls for verses and shows, D Cinn is proud to know that he is gaining such a strong buzz. It lets him know that his hard work is paying off.
